What types of allergies do you treat?

We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies such as food, environmental, animal dander, latex, stinging insects, drugs and occupational allergens. We also treat asthma, immune system problems such as autoimmune diseases, anaphylaxis and recurrent infections due to IgG deficiencies.

What kind of testing do you offer for diagnosing allergies?

We offer skin prick allergy testing which can detect specific antibodies against a variety of allergens. In addition we perform blood tests including RAST (radioallergosorbent test) to measure the amount of IgE antibodies present. In certain cases we may suggest spirometry test to check how well your lungs are functioning or an exercise challenge test to determine if exposure to certain allergens contribute to your symptoms.

How can I manage my allergies?

Our Allergists develop individualized treatment plans for each patient based on their diagnosis, age, lifestyle and preferences. In general this may include elimination of potential allergen sources from your environment when possible; use of medications such as antihistamines or corticosteroids; immunotherapy (allergy shots); education on identifying triggers for symptoms; and follow up visits for reassessment of response to therapy and adjusting dosage accordingly.

Yes! We offer other services such as pulmonary function tests which evaluate lung functioning; patch testing for contact dermatitis; intradermal skin testing for penicillin reactions; biologic antibody testing; eosinophil counts; food challenges; measurement medication levels in blood/urine samples; comprehensive respiratory viral panels; among others.
