The University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that it has decided to take admission tests in a comprehensive or bunch of all public universities of the country from the coming academic year. Those from the Department of Humanities, Business and Science will take the admission test in a questionnaire based on the syllabus of higher secondary.
The decision was taken unanimously at a meeting with Vice-Chancellor of Public Universities chaired by UGC Chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah on Thursday. The information was later released in a news release sent from UGC.
Public Universities Admission Test will Held Combined from Next Year
Professor Kazi Shahidullah said that detailed discussions will be held soon with the Vice-Chancellor of the four universities and some selected universities formed under Ordinance 1 to discuss various issues of admission test. The President and the Prime Minister expressed their expectations at various times to take the admission test in a coordinated manner. Last year, the Vice Chancellor’s Association of Public Universities decided to take the admission test in a coordinated manner.
Examination of admission in a comprehensive manner from the next academic year (2021-22). The center will be in the university only according to the students’ preferences. Admission Test type will be in short question, MCQ type canceled.

However, four autonomous universities and the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have not yet been finalized. UGC will hold talks with those universities again soon. Even if they do not agree, there will be a comprehensive admission test with the rest of them.
